The Civil Service Commission (CSC) joins the nation in celebrating the 125th Philippine Independence Day with the theme "Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan".

In his video message addressed to the 1.8 million civil servants, CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles said that this year’s theme emphasizes not only the importance of appreciating the country’s struggle for freedom and independence but also stresses the need to adapt to the new realities of the present to usher in the future aspirations of the country.

“We must be agile in the face of changes in the workplace, dynamic in our policies to address client demands, and flexible to ensure continuity in the delivery of public services amid any disruption. Ito ay mga kongkretong paraan upang maipakita natin ang pagpapahalaga sa kabayanihan ng mga nakipaglaban para sa ating tinatamasang kasarinlan,” he said.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced that the list of testing centers and school assignments relative to the conduct of the Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE) on 11 June 2023 is now available online.

CSC released Examination Advisory No. 5, s. 2023 on 30 May 2023, informing the 6,728 registered examinees from 16 CSC testing centers nationwide that they may check their Notice of School Assignment (NOSA) for the BCLTE through the Online Notice of School Assignment (ONSA) accessible via the CSC website at www.csc.gov.ph.

Civil Service Commission Chairperson Karlo Nograles urged civil servants to strive for patriotism by always respecting the Philippine flag as the country observes National Flag Days from 28 May to 12 June 2023.

Chairperson Nograles reminded government officials and employees of their sworn oath to observe the eight (8) norms of conduct mandated under the Republic Act (R.A.) No. 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, which include “nationalism and patriotism”.

“Bilang mga kawani ng gobyerno, ugaliin po nating ipakita ang paggalang sa watawat hindi lang dahil sa ating sinumpaang tungkulin kundi dahil sa marubdob na pagmamahal sa bansa,” said Chairperson Nograles.

Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles reminded the 1.8 million workforce of government to promote environmental conservation and sustainability as the country celebrates Philippine Environment Month this June, and joined the global observance of World Environment Day today, 5 June 2023.

Chairperson Nograles emphasized the responsibility of government employees to safeguard the nation’s resources as part of their duty to uphold public interest.

“Bilang mga kawani ng gobyerno, inaasahan na tayo ang syang mangunguna sa pagprotekta sa yaman nang bansa hindi lang para sa ating pansariling kapakanan kundi bilang bahagi ng ating tungkulin na itaguyod ang pampublikong interes,” he said.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) conducted a virtual conference for the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) aimed at further advancing gender mainstreaming in the region.

Held on 23 May 2023 via Zoom, the activity was organized by the CSC through the Civil Service Institute with support from the ASEAN Secretariat.

A total of 26 attendees representing key organizations participated in the event. These included representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters, and the ASEAN Committee on Women from the nine member states such as Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
