The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will soon be holding virtual hearings.

In CSC Resolution No. 2100420 promulgated on 2 June 2021, the CSC adopts guidelines on the use of a videoconferencing platform for hearings and pre-hearing conferences before the CSC and its regional offices. The move would allow speedy disposition of administrative cases despite the pandemic crisis situation, while keeping participants safe from health risks.

Virtual hearings and pre-hearing conferences will be applicable not only during the declaration of a community quarantine, but also in the case of unforeseen or fortuitous events that prevent in-person appearances before the CSC.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) invites all government agencies to join the opening of the 121st Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration on 1 September 2021 through an online Zumba event.

Government workers and their family members who are 18 years of age may register until 20 August 2021 via bit.ly/PCSAFilmShowing.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) called on civil servants to take part in promoting Philippine culture by exemplifying public service values.

Pagmamahal sa Diyos at bayan at malasakit sa kapwa – these are values deeply ingrained in our culture. We can help preserve and cultivate them by practicing them in the way we, civil servants, deliver services to the public,” said CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala.

The CSC made the statement as the nation celebrates the 54th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Anniversary this August. The celebration carries the theme, “ASEAN Connection: Remembering Southeast Asia’s Culture and Heritage,” which underscores the importance of cultural heritage preservation and its role in protecting local and national identity and pride.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced that the Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO) will be moved to 12 September from its original date of 22 August.

In an advisory, the CSC explained that the rescheduling is a result of the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the National Capital Region (NCR) from 6 to August 20, which has affected the preparatory or administrative requirements and procedures necessary for the conduct of the said exam.

Moreover, the restrictions implemented by the government would most likely affect the mobility of the examinees, most of whom will come from NCR.

With the recent onslaught of heavy rains, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) urged government agencies to adopt safety and health standards in the workplace to protect their employees from risks due to disasters and emergencies.

Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala said, “Hazards at work, especially those that may result from natural calamities such as volcanic activities and typhoons, may be inevitable but there are things we can do to prevent or at least minimize the negative impacts on people and property.”

She said that adequate preparation would help ensure the continuous delivery of services to the public amid any disruptive event.
