Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles met International Labour Organization (ILO) Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo and other ILO executives in a luncheon meeting last 26 June 2023 in Ermita, Manila, as part of the labor official's three-day official visit to the country.
CSC joined other government agencies in the meeting, which was aimed at strengthening the collaboration and partnership of the ILO with the Philippines by promoting decent work, social justice, and inclusive growth.
"As the central human resource agency of the Philippine government, the Commission is one with the International Labor Organization in improving employee work conditions, especially in the public sector," Nograles said.

Registered employee organizations may now file their application for accreditation online.
This was announced by Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles, who also heads the Public Sector Labor Management Council (PSLMC), an inter-agency body that attends to matters relating to government employee organizations. The Council consists of the CSC Chair as the chairperson, the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment as the vice-chair, and the Secretaries of the Department of Budget and Management, the Department of Finance, and the Department of Justice as members.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) invites leaders, managers, and human resource (HR) practitioners to participate in the series of comprehensive learning and development (L&D) programs offered by the Civil Service Institute (CSI) this July.
“As the training and development arm of the Commission, CSI offers an array of HR and organizational development programs aimed at harnessing the skills of leaders and HR practitioners in government. As persons in charge of the learning and development of civil servants in their respective agencies, it is important that they are technically proficient so they can become effective partners in building a professional and competent bureaucracy,” said CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles.

Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles encouraged human resource (HR) practitioners to continuously update and enhance their skills to cope with the dynamic work environment in government service.
In his speech at the CSC Regional Office XI Colloquium of HR Management Practitioners (HRMPs) held on 29 and 30 June 2023 at Sotogrande Hotel, Davao City, Chairperson Nograles noted that being equipped with the necessary knowledge is imperative for HR practitioners to stay current and effective in their roles.
The two-day conference, attended by over 200 HRMPs from different government offices, local government units, government-owned and controlled corporations, and state universities and colleges in Region XI, aimed to equip CSC’s partners - HR professionals and industry experts – with proficiency in the most recent developments, obstacles, and effective methods in managing HR.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) reminded government agencies of the deadline of submission of the 2022 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) to the appropriate repository agency, which is set on 30 June 2023.
Under CSC Memorandum Circular No. 10, s. 2006, which amends the guidelines on the filing and submission of the SALN as contained in the Rules Implementing the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, the Chief/Head of the Personnel/Administrative Division or Unit/Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) is mandated to transmit all original copies of the SALNs received on or before June 30 of every year to the appropriate repository agency.
The list of repository agencies and the corresponding list of officers and employees whose SALNs should be filed with them are identified in CSC Memorandum Circular No. 3, s. 2015.
