The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will kick off the month-long celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) next month by holding an Online Zumba session scheduled on the first day of September.

The event is open to all government officials, employees and their families, who are 18 years old or older.

Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles met with Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe on 26 July 2023 at the CSC Central Office, Quezon City to discuss opportunities for collaboration between the two agencies to spur increased volunteerism among state workers.

Joining them were Assistant Secretary Greg L. Pineda, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Development Group; Mr. Kenneth C. Siruelo, OIC of the Policy, Advocacy, and Technical Services Division; Ms. Maribel F. Larracochea, OIC Supervising Volunteer Service Officer, and Ms. Claire S. Pantoja, all from the PNVSCA.

During the meeting, one of the topics addressed was the creation of modalities and schemes for government agencies and/or employee volunteering, along with the formulation of guidelines for their implementation. Additionally, Chairperson Nograles and Executive Director Gawe agreed on the need to establish data on volunteering efforts within the public sector to recognize and record best practices.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has launched an online eligibility verification system that enables government agencies' human resource management officers (HRMOs) and the general public to conveniently access civil service eligibility information.

The Civil Service Eligibility Verification System (CSEVS), which was internally developed, is an online search platform that allows access to the database of eligible individuals who have successfully passed the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT), Computerized Examination (COMEX), and Computer Assisted Test. Additionally, it includes individuals who have been granted eligibilities under special laws and CSC issuances.

One of the components of the CSEVS is the External Online Verification of Civil Service Eligibilities, which allows HRMOs to access and verify the eligibility information of applicants before the issuance of appointments. The eligible individuals themselves can also access their eligibility information using the CSEVS.

Those aspiring to join the civil service can now explore the government’s job openings by visiting the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Job Portal at www.csc.gov.ph/career.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles said that the CSC Job Portal furnishes interested and qualified Filipino citizens with pertinent details regarding job vacancies offered by national government agencies, local government units, and state universities and colleges.

“Taun-taon, libo-libong aplikante ang natatanggap sa pampublikong sektor dahil sa mga job vacancies na naka-post sa CSC Job Portal. Ngayong taon, inaanyayahan naming muli ang mga bagong graduate sa kolehiyo at first time jobseekers, pati na rin ang mga nakapasa sa nakalipas na Career Service Exams, at ang mga gustong lumipat ng trabaho na bisitahin ang portal,” Chairperson Nograles said.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced the 43 semi-finalists for the 2023 Search for Outstanding Government Workers.

In line with this, the CSC is encouraging the public to share their feedback, whether they are positive or negative, regarding the nominees for the three (3) award categories on or before 21 July 2023.

“We encourage the public to participate in CSC’s Search for Outstanding Government Workers that aims to recognize our civil servants who displayed exemplary behavior in performing their duties. Your valuable feedback will help in selecting the best awardees among this year's nominees, the most commendable public servants who will serve as our models in giving quality public service,” said CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles.
