Individuals planning to take the upcoming Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) on 3 March 2024 may still file their application in designated Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Offices (ROs) or Field Offices (FOs) until Friday, 12 January 2024.

The extended application period was a response to growing interest in the CSE-PPT Professional and Subprofessional Levels. The CSC announced that additional working days have been provided to accommodate more applicants.

“By extending the filing period in regions with the most number of applicants, we hope to surpass the 345,194 individuals who took the 20 August 2023 Career Service written examination alone,” said CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is currently accepting nominations for the 2024 Search for Outstanding Government Workers through its Regional Offices, with the online submission deadline set for 31 March 2024.

As part of the government’s rewards and incentives mechanism under the Honor Awards Program (HAP), the annual search aims to recognize civil servants who have shown utmost dedication and commitment to their work, as well as to inspire other state employees toward deeper involvement in public service.

All government workers in the career and non-career service including appointive barangay officials may be nominated. Employees who are under Job Order or Contract of Service are excluded from the coverage of the program.

In his year-end message to government officials and employees, Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles expressed appreciation for the dedication and heroism of civil servants who continue to serve with passion and integrity even in the face of adversity.

He noted how government workers from different fields weathered every crisis with the resilient and enduring spirit that defines Filipinos.

“Mula sa mga healthcare workers na nagtatrabaho nang walang kapaguran upang magligtas ng mga buhay, sa mga guro na nagmumulat ng kaisipan ng mga kabataan, sa mga inhinyero na nagtatayo ng mga tulay na nagdadala sa atin nang mas malapit sa isa't isa, at sa mga social workers na nagbibigay gabay sa mga komunidad—each one of them embodies what it truly means to be a lingkod bayani,” said Chairperson Nograles.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) reminds government employees to refrain from soliciting gifts and consuming alcoholic beverages within government offices during office Christmas parties.

Addressing the 1.9 million civil servants nationwide, CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles emphasized the importance of celebrating the season conscientiously, reminding government employees that while it is a time for joy and gratitude, it is equally imperative to uphold their responsibilities.

“Alam po natin na ito ay panahon ng pagsasaya at pasasalamat para sa isang pinagpalang taon ng buhay at trabaho na nagdaan, pero huwag din nating kalimutan ang ating responsibilidad bilang mga kawani ng gobyerno. Let us maintain a professional and conducive working environment even during year-end and holiday celebrations,” he said.
