Course Description:

HR Conversations is the Civil Service Institute's newest course offering. It is a one-day learning event that aims to strengthen the role of human resource management officers (HRMOs) as they perform a host of HR functions in the areas of recruitment, selection, and placement; learning and development; performance management; and rewards and recognition. HR Conversations aims to serve as a platform where HR practitioners can share latest trends and best practices and discuss common concerns and potential collaboration. Considering that HRMOs are the strategic partners of agency heads, enhancing their skills on a regular basis will facilitate the needed transformation towards strategic human resource and organization development. 

HR Conversations 

As CSI’s newest course, the HR Conversations will prioritize intervention on the area of Recruitment, Selection, and Placement System (RSPS) of the PRIME-HRM. This is drawn from the result of the online self-assessment of government agencies as of December 2018, where majority are below Level 2 in this area. The course will help deepen the understanding of HRMOs on process-defined (Level 2) RSP so they may, in turn, help their respective agencies in meeting higher RSP standards, and getting the right people for the right job at the right time.  

Target Participants:

We are inviting HR officials and employees from national government agencies, government-owned or controlled corporations, and state universities and colleges, especially from agencies that have not yet reached HR Maturity Level 2 in PRIME-HRM. 

Performance Objective:

To enable HRMOs to satisfy Level 2 requirements of PRIME-HRM in Recruitment, Selection, and Placement (RSP) System.  

Learning Objectives:

Specifically, by the end of the HR Conversations, participants are expected to:

  1.        Appreciate the value of process-defined recruitment, selection, and placement;
  2.        Identify PRIME-HRM’s RSP Level 2 common indicators which are difficult to comply with, and determine acceptable processes/practices aligned with the indicators;
  3.        Harvest strategies and best practices for possible replication; and,
  4.        Commit to review and enhance the RSP System in their respective agencies.

  •          Session 2: The “What’s” of Process-Defined RSP System of the PRIME-HRM
  •          Session 3: Best Practices from PRIME-HRM awardees
  •          Session 4: Recruitment, Selection, and Placement: The Case of Jobstreet.com
  •          Round Table Discussion

Note: A certificate of completion with eight (8) leadership and managerial training hours will be given to participants who have successfully completed the course.
