SUBJECT : Call for Government Officials and Employees and their Families to Take the COVID-19 Booster Shot
The Philippine government has conducted a series of Bayanihan, Bakunahan National COVID-19 Vaccination Days (NVD) which aimed at facilitating the administration of the first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as the COVID-19 booster shot to individuals.
According to the Department of Health - National Vaccination Operations Center, the country has reached a total of 68,380,964 or 75.97% fully vaccinated individuals out of the 90 million target population. Although 68 million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated, there is a need to strengthen the COVID-19 booster implementation as only 14.88% or 13,389,431 individuals have received their booster shot.
In its continued support to the National Government’s vaccination programs, the Commission highly encourages all government officials and employees and their families to get their COVID-19 booster shots to further increase the immunity protection of our country against the COVID-19 virus.
For the administration of the primary doses of COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots on a work day, government officials and employees may avail of the excused absence under Items 4.3 and 4.4 of CSC Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 16, s. 20211, which provide, thus:
