MC created the topic: Grant of Clothing Allowance
Are newly hired employees entitled to receive a clothing allowance, if they were hired last October 2021. They will be on their sixth month in the position this coming April. Based on the guidelines, the release of the said allowance should not be later than April 15. Hence, will they also receive the allowance? Thank you,

Hi MC,

Please be informed that as a matter of policy, this Commission does not render opinion/ruling on issues that may eventually be, or is actually, a subject of a complaint or appeal before it.

Item 9.1 of DBM Circular No. 2018-1 dated March 8, 2018 (Rules and Regulations on the Grant of Uniform/Clothing Allowances (U/CA) to Civilian Government Personnel), provide, that, a newly hired employee may qualify to the grant of U/CA only after rendering six (6) months of service, and if expected to render services for at least six (6) months for the rest of the year.

It is hoped that we have guided you on the matter.
