Can an agency recall an employee from her maternity leave in the exigency of service?

If yes, is it possible for employee to avail of the days cancelled from said leave at a later date?

Good morning.

The enjoyment of the maternity leave may not be deferred, such that it should be availed by the female worker either before or after actual period of delivery in a continuous or uninterrupted manner. Therefore, the EML may not be cancelled for enjoyment at a later date.

In all instances, the maternity leave benefit can be credited as combinations of prenatal and postnatal leave as long as it does not exceed 105 days or 60 days, as the case may be. And, in no case shall be postnatal care be less than 60 days.
