Hi sir/madam:

May we seek clarification as to the time interval for timing out in the morning and timing in in the afternoon? Is there such a rule on this?

Say, can an employee time out at 12:58pm and immediately time in at 1:00pm, giving only 2 minutes interval?

Thank you so much!

Hi,

Section 5, Rule XVII, Omnibus Rules Implementing Book V of the Executive Order No. 292, provides:

"Section 5. Officers and employees of all departments and agencies except those covered by special laws shall render not less than eight hours a day for five days a week or a total of forty hours a week, exclusive of time for lunch. As a general rule, such hours shall be from eight o'clock in the morning to twelve o'clock noon and from one o'clock to five o'clock in the afternoon on all days except Saturday, Sunday and holidays."

This rule was reiterated in CSC Memorandum Circular No. 1, s. 2017.

Thank you.
