Hello CSC,

I would like to clarify on my end if this is true that the position is not available if the closing date of the application has already been ended? Because in my case I was able to find an appropriate job when I have searched it on your career platform regarding the vacant position of COMPUTER PROGRAMMER II here in Region VI for the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR). Until now, I can still search it through your website but when I inquire with the Human Resource Department of DAR-Region VI, they told me that they do not cater any more applicants since the closing date has already been ended, March 31, 2020, but I have asked them if the position was already taken and they said that it is not. I just want to make sure if it is not allowed to apply anymore since the job is still being posted on your website.

Thank you po and I am hoping for your response! God bless!

Hi! This is to respond to your query. The posting of available and vacant positions in the government is a requirement under the law, and that CSC is mandated to do such posting. However, agencies who requested the posting of their vacancies can provide or prescribe their own due date or closing period within which to accept applications for the said positions. This is to ensure that the agency concerned is given enough time to process application papers and schedule next steps in the selection process. Thus, where the agency concerned has closed the application period on March 2020, then that schedule is binding. It may, however, be inadvertence that the vacant position still remains posted to date. Rest assured that the posting will be looked into to avoid further confusions.

We hope to have enlightened you on the matter.
